What does Daði Freyr’s synth-pop sound like with classical arrangements by Sinfóníuhljómsveit Íslands?

The answer will be revealed on November 5 in Eldborg at Harpa, where Daði Freyr and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra join forces for a special Iceland Airwaves 2026 concert.

Don’t miss the chance — something truly unique will take place on stage that evening.

For the first time, Daði Freyr will perform live with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. His music will be reimagined in a bold new form, where sweeping orchestral arrangements meet his signature pop sound. The result promises to be a one-of-a-kind musical experience, with familiar songs taking on new life and audiences given the rare opportunity to hear Daði Freyr’s music in the rich and expansive sound of a full symphony orchestra.

Daði Freyr’s latest album, Too Much Not Enough, will be released on May 8. His most personal work to date, the album explores the idea of what is “too much” — and whether anything is ever truly enough. The concert will feature material from the new album, alongside some of the artist’s beloved earlier hits.

The conductor for the evening is Daníel Bjarnason, who has recently worked with Rosalía.

The event is part of Iceland Airwaves 2026 as a Special Event. Iceland Airwaves ticket holders receive priority access and a discount, but the concert is open to everyone.

With this concert, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra continues its collaboration with Iceland Airwaves. Previous appearances at the festival have included performances with John Grant, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Emilíana Torrini, Ólafur Arnalds, Ásgeir, and most recently Mugison.
