Ticket Sales and Refund Policy

Ticket Sales Terms

To ensure that everyone can enjoy events at Harpa, it is recommended that guests show courtesy to other guests, as well as to staff, in both words and actions. Harpa reserves the right to turn away individuals who display indecent or threatening behaviour and do not comply with the rules and safety instructions applicable at Harpa.

Please carefully review your ticket purchase as soon as it is completed. It may not be possible to correct a ticket purchase afterwards.

Please note the following carefully:

  • Is this the correct date?
  • Correct price seating?
  • Correct time?

Events that are on sale at the Harpa ticket office are the responsibility of the event organiser, which in most cases is not Harpa Concert and Conference Centre. The event organiser is always specified in the information about the event on the Harpa website.

By purchasing a ticket, the buyer agrees to comply with all applicable national laws, as well as Harpa's rules and safety instructions for the event. Suppose the ticket buyer has an intolerance, allergy, or is sensitive to noise, light, language, or other factors that can be expected to occur at events. In that case, it is the ticket buyer's responsibility to familiarise themselves with the conditions before the event. Harpa cannot guarantee that the event organiser will change or add lights, smoke machines, or other elements at an event on short notice.

Please note that it is not always possible to allow guests into the hall after the event has started. We would also like to encourage ticket holders to arrive on time.

Large bags or backpacks are not permitted in Harpa's halls during events.

Tickets may not be resold for financial gain. If a ticket is sold for monetary gain to a party other than the event organiser, Harpa Box Office reserves the right to void the ticket in its entirety.

The Child Protection Act and the Liquor Stores Act determine the age limit for an event. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to stay inside a restaurant licensed to serve alcohol after 8:00 PM and until the venue closes unless accompanied by a guardian.

The event organiser is free to set a different age limit. For certain events, there are limits on the number of tickets an individual can purchase. Suppose multiple tickets are purchased under the same name, ID number, email address or credit card. In that case, Harpa Box Office reserves the right to void all tickets purchased over the specified number.

Harpa does not guarantee the delivery of event reminders sent via text message and/or email. It is the ticket purchaser’s responsibility to keep track of the date and start time of an event. Harpa encourages ticket purchasers to ensure that their phone number and/or email address are correctly registered with the box office. Correctly registered information ensures that reminders are sent to the ticket owners.

Harpa Box Office and the event organiser are not responsible for guests’ personal belongings before, during and/or after the event. Harpa Box Office handles personal information in accordance with the law. For more information, see Harpa’s Privacy Policy.

Refund Policy

If an event is cancelled, ticket buyers will be offered comparable tickets on the next available date, if possible, or a full refund of the ticket.

The buyer of a ticket or gift card has 14 days from the date of purchase to cancel it and request a refund. This applies to all ticket purchases, whether purchased from the Harpa/Tix website or at a box office. Please note that this does not apply to tickets purchased less than 14 days before the event.

If a customer requests a refund of a ticket or gift card within 14 days of purchase, they must send an email request to boxoffice@harpa.is, including their name, email address, phone number, and details about the ticket purchase. If the conditions for a refund are met, the ticket purchase will be refunded within 14 days, using the original payment method.
